We so deeply appreciate your support and kindness during our bereavement. Tonight I had the pleasure of visiting the Davidson website and was able to read the tributes from the men my husband so loved and respected. He never stopped telling us about what a great group of men he had commanded aboard the Davidson, and that the Davy was the best, most well run ship it had ever been his pleasure to command. At the reunion in 2002 the honor and respect given him was truly one of the most important events of his life. He cherished every moment he could spend with the guys and was so looking forward to returning this year. For myself I can tell you that I agree with you, Henry Stanfield was the most honorable, caring and wonderful man I have ever known. Being his wife was the most important thing I have ever done, and the most fulfilling experience of my life. I will, as most of you do, carry in my heart forever the memory and love of this most special man.
